Gensler Summer Intern Project

During my Summer 2024 internship at Gensler, I conducted research exploring the potential of converting underutilized office buildings into residential spaces. This initiative came at a crucial moment when cities were grappling with both a housing shortage and declining office occupancy rates.

The project focused on understanding the challenges facing urban office real estate, analyzing existing building stock for conversion potential, and developing a detailed conversion proposal for a selected building that could serve as a prototype for future transformations.

This research and design work contributed to Gensler's broader initiatives in adaptive reuse and urban transformation, offering insights into how cities can reimagine their existing building stock to meet evolving needs.
